A packed weekend ensued last weekend with lots of friends and family fun but along the way we squeezed in some very satisfying vintageness and met some great people along the way! Our list of favourite shops gets longer by the day…..take a look at these gems…
Having seen on twitter that lovely Emily from Fishee Designs had taken over the old Deco shop in Pokesdown, we just had to nip in on our way from one side of Bournemouth to Poole and have a nose. Not only can you hire the mobile photo booth (what a totally fab wedding idea!) but you can now have photos done in her bespoke studio!
There are some fantastic gifts on show in the shop too.
Mr M and I loved the photo cushions which can be made with any image you supply – turn away now if you’re likely to be getting a Christmas pressie from me (!!) – but we came home with a great new teapot with a hand painted bird design on the side. Tea and birds, what’s not to like?! I’m now searching for a suitable tea cosy pattern of course.
Sunday saw us gatecrashing the beautiful Dorset Vintage Wedding Fair organised by our friend Anna from Miss Dolly’s Vintage Parties.
Knowing how stressful fair organising can be, we took her a large cocktail made to our own secret recipe and had a lovely mooch around. It was slightly awkward having to explain that we were already married to all of the stall holders but that aside we had some lovely chats with both familiar and new faces. We absolutely loved the champagne sorbet provided by Little Al’s Ice Cream Trike who is based in Ringwood and, it turns out, came to our fair in September!
There were almost too many fantastic sellers to take it all in but my favourite new shop was Nursey Bang Bang from Bournemouth! We bought some really cute earrings for Meg for her Birthday. I was really quite embarrassingly desperate for a brooch version of an Owl Ring which declared ‘I ♥ knitting’ and I’m promised that there will be one on the Etsy Shop soon. Nursey also does crafty workshops which look brilliant. In fact this blue tit egg cosy
might translate into the perfect tea cosy for my new teapot! There were all sorts of really fun and quirky gifts on her stall and frankly it was tough to decide what to get. Luckily Nursey and her friend Miss Cream Tease were a lot of fun to chat to too! We are hoping to catch up with them again soon and maybe bring them to an event near you….
Take a look at a few of these images and pop over to the Nursey Bang Bang blog to check out more
Keep the Vintage love xx
