About us

This blog began as a way of keeping people up to date with plans for the first ever Vintage and Handmade Fair in Alderholt.  The Fair went off pretty well for a first attempt and there is loads of info on this site about the fab exhibitors that came along and some great photos that have been sent in by people who were with us for the Fair.

In the course of this we have caught the blogging bug and now post about anything that we like with an emphasis on the vintage and other lovely things to do.  Keep watching for info on other events!!

Tea Table at the Fair

thanks for reading and keep the vintage love xx

About the Fair

We are organising a vintage and handmade event in Alderholt, East Dorset on 11 September 2011.  This will be a community event centred around our village hall and including various nostalgic and upcycling activities to include:

  • Vintage cars to view
  • Various music and dance from the mid to late 20 century (including live music)
  • Free recycling craft activities to keep children happy
  • Free story reading for children
  • Other activites including childrens rides and lovely teas.

The event will take place both inside the 1968 hall and around the grounds of the building.  We are looking for makers and sellers who are quirky and fun and from the southwest.  We hope to provide a range of stalls covering both vintage selling for all interests and periods and also inspirational makers and sellers particularly, although not exclusively, those using recycled or vintage materials.

We will be advertising the event via a network of blogs and also local press in order to attract a wide range of people to the village and will also be encouraging local people to attend through local networks.

In recognition of the fact that this is the first such event in the village we are offering stalls for a token price of only £10 per table!

I hope you will be keen to take part in inspiring our community – please leave a message  if so and we can discuss details.
