Dorset Vintage Wedding Fair this Sunday!

The Dorset Vintage Wedding Fair is back and it’s bigger and better than ever!  Anyone who is getting married, thinking of getting married one day or even just in love with beautiful things or vintage should definitely not miss this completely fabulous event.  Being slightly besotted with wedding gorgeousness and currently helping my sister in law to plan her wedding later this year,  I can hardly wait to head down the this years new venue, The Roman Forte near Wimborne to see all of the lovely things.

There are even more brilliant exhibitors this time around and music, catwalk shows and lovely teas galore.  Here’s a selection of my favourite exhibitors but check out Anna’s website for all of the details and some scrummy photos!  Entry is £5 to include a free entry to win an amazing wedding package.   The first 500 brides will also receive a free goody bag.

Rachel Drewer Millinary – hats for mothers and guests and beautiful bridal headwear to die for.  I so want this pretty ruffles and roses affair.

Look at this gorgeous girl from Dorset Dubhire, her name is Lulu and she’s just perfect for any wedding along the beautiful south coast.

Totally beautiful cakes by the lovely Miss Ingredient.

Very excited by the beautiful dresses from Maids to Measure.  Check out their lovely website for a unique way to purchase truly individual dresses.

The sun is going to shine on Sunday.  Head down, find a glass of something bubbly and enjoy a feast of beautiful springtime gorgeousness! Hope to see you there.

Vintage Weekend and New Fav Shops – woo!

A packed weekend ensued last weekend with lots of friends and family fun but along the way we squeezed in some very satisfying vintageness and met some great people along the way!  Our list of favourite shops gets longer by the day…..take a look at these gems

Emily of Fishee Designs

Having seen on twitter that lovely Emily from Fishee Designs had taken over the old Deco shop in Pokesdown, we just had to nip in on our way from one side of Bournemouth to Poole and have a nose.  Not only can you hire the mobile photo booth (what a totally fab wedding idea!) but you can now have photos done in her bespoke studio!

There are some fantastic gifts on show in the shop too.

Fab image cushions

Mr M and I loved the photo cushions which can be made with any image you supply – turn away now if you’re likely to be getting a Christmas pressie from me (!!) –  but we came home with a great new teapot with a hand painted bird design on the side.  Tea and birds, what’s not to like?!  I’m now searching for a suitable tea cosy pattern of course.

Personalised gifts

Sunday saw us gatecrashing the beautiful Dorset Vintage Wedding Fair organised by our friend Anna from Miss Dolly’s Vintage Parties.

Knowing how stressful fair organising can be, we took her a large cocktail made to our own secret recipe and had a lovely mooch around.  It was slightly awkward having to explain that we were already married to all of the stall holders but that aside we had some lovely chats with both familiar and new faces.   We absolutely loved the champagne sorbet provided by Little Al’s Ice Cream Trike who is based in Ringwood and, it turns out, came to our fair in September!

There were almost too many fantastic sellers to take it all in but my favourite new shop was Nursey Bang Bang from Bournemouth!  We bought some really cute earrings for Meg for her Birthday.  I was really quite embarrassingly desperate for a brooch version of an Owl Ring which declared ‘I ♥ knitting’ and I’m promised that there will be one on the Etsy Shop soon.  Nursey also does crafty workshops which look brilliant.  In fact this blue tit egg cosy

Nursey Bang Bang - Workshop

might translate into the perfect tea cosy for my new teapot!   There were all sorts of really fun and quirky gifts on her stall and frankly it was tough to decide what to get.  Luckily Nursey and her friend Miss Cream Tease were a lot of fun to chat to too! We are hoping to catch up with them again soon and maybe bring them to an event near you….

Take a look at a few of these images and pop over to the Nursey Bang Bang blog to check out more

Vintage Fair Gallery – really the last one!

Thanks to Heather from the fantastic Turquoise Hare for these brill photos sent all the way from America!   Don’t forget that Miss Dolly whose beautiful caravan is shown here has her Vintage Wedding Fair coming up very soon on Sunday 16th October at Chettle House.  There is going to be much vintage love on show and it has to be a must for anyone planning a wedding!
